Packet Processing
Networking applications involve packet processing functions split across the control plane and data plane. As much as 90% of the workload of these applications requires packet processing in the data plane. Tilera® processors provide excellent packet processing performance utilizing the on-chip packet acceleration mPIPE (manycore Programmable Intelligent Packet Engine) for classification, header manipulation, load balancing and buffer management while leaving the majority of the cores available for value add application processing.
