Wireless Core Network

The increased adoption of smart phones, the fast introduction of third party applications, and the growth of wireless broadband, consumers are pushing for ever-increasing bandwidth on the wireless networks. In addition operators are demanding simpler network structure, compatibility with existing protocols, and lower equipment costs. All these pressures are placed squarely on the wireless core network equipment providers.

In order for the equipment providers to support these services, new core network nodes must have high performance interfaces, high performance packet processing, new methods of performing deep packet inspection and methods of implementing security systems. The current solutions do not meet the needs. Current technology provides either performance with a complex and inflexible design, or a measure of flexibility but low performance.

The Tilera® processors supply the perfect balance of flexibility and performance. By using the TILE64™ processor, vendors can accommodate their throughput needs, provide the services required to add value and differentiation, and offer the flexibility to support multiple protocols and future evolution. In addition, ANSI C/C++ based programming and the leading multicore debugging and profiling tools preserve vendors' software investment and decrease their time to market.
