Tilera Nominated for FSA "Start-Up to Watch" Award
SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 4, 2007 - Tilera Corporation, a fabless semiconductor company developing the breakthrough Tile Architecture™ processor family, has been nominated for the 2007 Fabless Semiconductor Alliance (FSA) "Fabless Start-Up to Watch" award.
The "Start-Up to Watch" award is given to the fabless semiconductor company that demonstrates the potential to positively change its market or the semiconductor industry in general through the innovative use of semiconductor technology or a new application for semiconductor technology. The winner is selected by the FSA VC Advisory Board. Other nominees include: Amimon Inc., Boston Circuits, Inc., Fresco Microchip Inc., SiBEAM Inc., and Vivace Semiconductor, Inc.
The mission of FSA is to accelerate the growth and increase the return on invested capital of the global semiconductor industry by fostering a more effective fabless ecosystem through collaboration, integration and innovation. The annual FSA event recognizes companies that have demonstrated excellence through their vision, strategy, execution and future opportunity.
The awards ceremony honors the achievements of semiconductor companies in several categories ranging from outstanding leadership to financial accomplishments as well as overall respect within the industry. This year's awards will take place on Dec. 6 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. (see fsa.org).
On Nov. 1, Tilera was honored as the runner up at the first annual Emerging Tech awards, given by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal on Thursday night in a ceremony at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.
