Field Applications Engineer
SUMMARY / SCOPE OF POSITION
The role of the Field Application Engineering is to assist Tilera's customers to solve real-world problems with our products. The successful candidate will have a broad range of domain knowledge and be adept at problem solving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Good hardware and software knowledge of modern microprocessor-based system design.
- Excellent working knowledge of various software components and their interactions - including firmware, hypervisors, operating systems, device drivers, applications, etc.
- Good working knowledge of various modern software-related constructs including coherency, locking, interrupts, virtualization, threading, etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of Linux and VxWorks.
- Good working knowledge of the software requirements for a vertical market such as network infrastructure, digital multimedia, storage infrastructure, telecommunications infrastructure and high-performance computing.
- Excellent working knowledge of software development process including design, prototype, implementation, test, debug, performance analysis, source control, and release.
- Detailed understanding of customer engagement process - including evaluation, selection, design win, prototyping and production.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and multitask on several projects simultaneously.
BS/MS EE plus five years experience, equivalent.
