Board Operations Manager

SUMMARY / SCOPE OF POSITION

We are looking for an experienced leader to manage Tilera's board business. This would include defining contract manufacturer requirements, selecting the right CM, developing an operational and technical relationship for both prototype boards as well as production systems and managing that relationship. The position will also be responsible for cost model development for the various boards and SKUs designed by Tilera and driving the Productization of the same. Will also be responsible for analyzing customer PRDs for boards and driving the development of the response document including production proposals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Strong track record of having hands on interface with major CMs involving high volume production of systems and boards.
  • Should have been responsible for products transfer into production from interface to volume and ideally end of life of at least 1 product.
  • Working knowledge of board build and test, including procurement, AVL /BOM management, PCB design and manufacture and yield systems.
  • An effective team player who can productively work with other functions, including other teams within the engineering organization, marketing, sales, customers, etc., to provide a comprehensive womb to tomb board lifecycle management.
  • Ideally, experienced with medium to high volume complicated networking or CPU based boards involving multiple custom ASICs, state of the art PCB technology and fine pitch surface mount processes.
  • Hands on experience in yield management and repair, yield and loss tracking and RMA processes for acquired components as well as working knowledge of SPC implementation in the PCB line.
  • Excellent command of Excel or other database tools for development of cost models and proposals.
  • Working knowledge of certification processes, shipping terminology and regulations.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor procurement including supply chain of the same is highly desirable.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

BS/MS in CS or related technical field preferred, 10+ years relevant working experience.

TRAVEL

A reasonable amount of travel may be necessary to foster relations with multiple development sites. Time flexibility may be necessary to communicate with international customers and offshore resources.
