Embedded Applications Engineer

SUMMARY / SCOPE OF POSITION

Tilera Corporation is building an innovative, highly-parallel, very high-performance processor intended for the high-end embedded market. This job involves developing embedded applications in networking and multimedia. The candidate needs to be well versed with Linux internals and must have device driver development experience. Experience with RTOS development environments is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • A strong track record as a senior engineer on the hardware-software interface including high-speed device driver implementation, operating system kernel and networking/driver stack development, and hardware/software bringup.
  • Well-rounded engineering skills including technical investigation, design, software engineering process, schedule development, productive implementation practices, and technical communication both written and spoken.
  • An effective team player who can productively work with other team members, including hardware and system architects, tool developers, and marketing to define effective products.
  • Highly Desirable: Experience in or delivering to the embedded space, including networking, digital media, and other high-end applications.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

BS/MS EE plus five years experience, equivalent.

SW Engineer - Parallel Programmer

Tilera Corporation is building an innovative, highly-parallel, very high-performance processor intended for the high-end embedded market. This job involves developing applications and libraries for the embeded multi-core space. The candidate needs to be well versed in multi-threaded and multi-processor development. RTOS, kernel, and driver development environments is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • A strong track record as a senior engineer in a largely parallel environment, with experience in inter-process communication, and multi-process design.
  • Well-rounded engineering skills including technical investigation, library design, software engineering process, schedule development, productive implementation practices, and technical communication both written and spoken.
  • An effective team player who can productively work with other team members, including hardware and system architects, tool developers, and marketing to define effective products.
  • Highly Desirable: Experience in or delivering to the embedded space, including networking, digital media, and other high-end applications.
