Tilera's Breakthrough 100 Core TILE-Gx100 Processor Nominated for EE Times Ace Award

Finalist in Category of Most Promising New Technology

SAN JOSE, Calif. – March 25, 2011 -Tilera® Corporation, developer of the breakthrough high-performance TILE™ family of manycore processors, today announced that it was named as a finalist for the EE Times Ace Awards in the Most Promising New Technology category. Tilera is nominated for the TILE-Gx100™, the latest offering in its high performing TILE processor family.

Sampling later this year, the TILE-Gx100 will be the world’s first processor with 100 general purpose cores in a single device. Designed to be fast, and power efficient, the TILE-Gx100 will be the highest performance and the best performance per-watt general purpose processor on the market. The processor is optimized for compute intensive applications such as horizontally scalable server applications, multimedia transcoding, deep packet inspection and network security processing. The TILE-Gx100 will be supported by Tilera’s highly rated tools, as well as third party tools and operating systems.

In 2008, Tilera was a finalist for the EE Times ACE Awards in three categories, and the company has been recognized in previous years by the Global Semiconductor Association, the EDN Innovation Awards, as well as listed in roundups like the MIT Technology Review TR50 and EE Times Silicon60.
