Applications Engineer - Cloud Computing

Tilera, a multicore processor silicon vendor, seeks qualified Applications Engineers who are familiar with server architectures to validate and optimize web data center solutions around Tilera-based servers.
Software Engineer who will work with limited supervision and is responsible for the development, testing, optimization, documentation, and analysis of web based applications in C/C++, PHP or Java on Linux.
The candidate will work with various open source web applications and be able to optimize those applications for the specific Tilera hardware and software architectures, based on the LAMP stack.
There will be some limited development of web applications for demonstration and proof-of-concept purposes to Tilera’s silicon customers.

Linux experience, both at the application environment and embedded levels
Ability to write code, develop and execute test and debug frameworks
Strong ability to document work and results, especially related to performance
Minimum 5 years experience in coding and tuning web applications
Solid C/C++ programming and analytical skills
Java and/or PHP experience
Experience with multi-threaded or multi-processing systems is highly desired
Knowledge of web server management and software infrastructure is a strong plus
Knowledge of multicore architectures and ability to translate customer application requirements into processor feature requirements is a strong plus
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
Minimum education: BS in CS, EE or equivalent with well-rounded engineering skills
Excellent technical communication skills, both written and spoken.
Effective team player who can work productively in a team environment, including hardware and system architects, application developers, and marketing
Ability to effectively train FAE team on applications solutions and how they relate to Tilera multicore products
Currently authorized to work full-time in the USA

Desired location is either Westborough, MA, San Jose, CA, or China
Some travel may be necessary between Tilera’s development sites, or in limited cases to customer sites
